Anna Nolin
Anna Nolin is currently the Assistant Superintendent for Teaching, Learning and Innovation for the Natick Public Schools.  Prior to that she worked as Principal at Wilson Middle School in Natick 6 years and served as vice principal for 4 years prior to that. She has worked as a middle level educator in Metrowest for the past 16 years serving as a teacher, drama director, grant writer, curriculum developer and consultant. Beginning with her years as a teacher in inner city NYC schools, Ms. Nolin’s long-standing focus around middle schoolers revolves around community organizing and building community partnerships to support the development of student resilience. She has been a national presenter on the topic of bullying, use of literature to direct students’ social development, is a collaborator with the Humanities and social justice organization Facing History and Ourselves, has served as consulting educator for Educational Development Council (EDC) on their CyberBullying site promoteprevent.org, was a profiled teacher in the book, When the Drama Club is Not Enough: Lessons from the Safe Schools Program for Gay and Lesbian Students and  has been a national presenter for the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development’s spring conference in Chicago (ASCD) in the area of school implementation of effective and engaging 1:1 laptop programming. She is an adjunct professor at Endicott College for the  Educational Leadership Institute (ELI) Principal Preparation Program where she teaches courses on leadership theory and practice for training principals.  She holds a BA in English and Secondary Education from Middlebury College, a Master’s from Harvard University’s Risk and Prevention Program in Human Development and Psychology, and doctorate from Boston College where she conducted research on effective leadership around school-based 1:1 computing programs. She has two children and, like you, is a coach, soccer mom, theater goer, music lover, golfer, and pop culture junkie. She plays the clarinet and loves to farm.
